Welcome to Our Church Community

On the 1st January 2025, three Stewartry of Kirkcudbrightshire Church of Scotland parishes (Castle Douglas, Bengairn, and Corsock and Kirkpatrick Durham) were formally united, to form Carlingwark Parish Church of Scotland.

Carlingwark Parish covers the town of Castle Douglas, and the villages of Auchencairn, Bridge of Dee, Buittle, Clarebrand, Corsock, Dundrennan, Gelston, Palnackie, Kirkpatrick Durham, Mid-Kelton, Old Bridge of Urr, Rhonehouse, Springholm (part) and The Buchan.

You are always welcome to join us at our Services, in one of our Organisations or at one of our Events. Click the links above for more detail. 

If you prefer to make contact outwith church services or organisations, every Thursday from Noon till 1.30pm we host a Community Kitchen in the Castle Douglas Church Hall. Soup, sandwiches and hot drinks are available free and everybody is welcome to the cafe for a natter. We are also run in a similar manner a Supper Club every Friday from 4.30pm to 5.30pm with a main meal.

Auchencairn Church (pictured below) is open each Wednesday morning between 10am and Noon for “Cuppa, Craft and Chat”. And each Tuesday 1.30pm to 2.30pm and Thursday 9.30am to 10.30am as ‘a quiet space’

As examples of our outreach and support Castle Douglas church doors open for a Festival of Christmas throughout Advent. These are supplemented by contributions from local businesses and schools and by church services. 

Services are weekly at 11am in Castle Douglas (pictured above) and are held in Auchencairn on the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 9.30am and Corsock/Kirkpatrick Durham (both pictured below) at 9.30am on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. A joint service of Holy Communion is held at 11am on any 5th Sunday in Castle Douglas Church
